Flower of Life

Flower Life

Throughout human history, philosophers, artists, and architects around the world have known the Flower of Life symbol for its perfect form, proportion, and harmony. It is considered by many to be a symbol of sacred geometry, and is said to contain all the building blocks of the universe.

The Flower of Life (FOL) is a geometrical pattern composed of multiple, evenly-spaced, overlapping circles that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a six-fold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter.

The symbol can be used as a metaphor to illustrate the connectedness of all life and spirit. And it is said that studying this symbol with respect and open mindedness, the FOL can serve you as a mirror into which you can view your limitless potentials.

The earliest known example of the Flower of Life symbol is possibly two and a half thousand years old. The pattern itself can be found in various locations around the planet including the Osirian temple at Abydos, in Masada Israel, Mount Sinai, and many temples in Japan and China. Recently it has also been spotted in India and Spain.

Because looking into the center window of the Flower of Life symbol encourages us to unify our mind, heart and spirit, we at Heart is Hot find this powerful pattern a perfect reminder of the universal connectedness we all share. The symbol itself inspired us to create a logo that represents this unified spirit.
